 Did you think Adele was going to make your year with another amazing album? Well, sad times because she isn’t dropping a new LP in 2014, according to her record label.

Adele’s label XL Recordings have stated that there are no plans for the British singer to release her third album before the end of the year, and they also admit that because of that they will suffer financially.

In a filing, which has been reported by The New York Times, it said: "There will not be a further new release by Adele during 2014 and consequently there will be a fall in XL's turnover and profits.”

The turnover and profits will no doubt be boosted when the Skyfall star does finally drop this highly-anticipated record though.

Last month, BBC’s Newsbeat revealed that the star has been working with songwriting legend Diane Warren at RAK Studios in north west London, the same studio where Emeli Sande is reportedly working on her new LP.

Since dropping her epic sophomore album 21, Adele scooped an Oscar for Skyfall and also welcomed a baby boy in 2012, but now she’s back to work.

The 26-year-old hinted that she would be calling her album 25, after tweeting a birthday picture, along with the caption: “Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year x.”
